West Bromwich Albion Development Centre - South West
Our vision and principles
“To produce more and better Home Grown Players”
Staff: Develop the leading Youth Coaching fraternity in the South West of England.
Players: Develop technically astute and independent decision makers, fully equipped for a successful career as football players.
Environment: Develop educationally rounded people through a holistic approach.
Having created the time and space for players to practice, then critical to the successful development of players is the appropriate use of practice time. Coaches hold the key to the effective use of the time. It is only via the delivery of high quality coaching that our elite players development environments can be created.
The athletic development of players throughout the performance pathway is a complex process. We provide a cognitive operation of the athletic development phase of each young player on the performance pathway.
WBA development Centre delivers the athletic development programme which has the specific skills to provide specialist support for players from U5-U19, the full span of the performance pathway.
Playing football requires energy and healthy body. Good nutrition will help players to maintain their performance and enable them to recover between practice sessions or games.
We can introduce you to our physiotherapist who has over 25 years of experience in professional sports. We can offer 10% discount to our players.
Evidence of team tactical and technical progression in line with the clubs football philosophy. We log injury, illness and other vital notes, which provide us with important information to help improve, meet, and measure the player’s needs.
Local ‘Pathway’ Clubs
Selected local clubs will receive free quarterly ‘Coaches Professional Development’ days (CPD) over the course of the season to share our philosophy and to help local club environments.
We only offer CPD to our pathway clubs for rewarding their most talented players to attend one of our Centre’s in local proximity.
Players’ diary of training and games, annual performance targets, including cumulative record of nutrition, lifestyle, time spent training and games played.
Our kit supplier will guarantee a delivery lead-time of 21 days. All WBA Players can choose additional club items from our website. Each WBA player will be allocated a squad number. League players shall wear the same Kit for training and games.
Subjective Feedback Sessions
Regular measurement of the progress of each individual player in our Centre’s is an essential entitlement for each player. Each player is provided with a multi disciplinary review on a six-week/twelve week basis and all players are provided with up to date record of achievement.
WBA Development programme provides effective communication processes with players, their schools and the parents/guardians. We will provide evidence of progression and have a programme which supports all players onto their next step once they depart from our centers. Our office hours are between 0930hrs – 1630hrs Monday to Friday.
December-February Indoor Events
A number of ‘indoor’ events are staged. WBA indoor games programme runs December–February. The format for the games played ranges across 4v4, 5v5, 6v6, 7v7 & 8v8.
